Why use an Online Notepad?
Sometimes you just need a quick place to jot down a snippet of code, paste a temporary link, or draft an email without opening a heavy desktop application like MS Word or VS Code. Our free online notepad provides an instant, distraction-free writing environment directly in your browser. It loads instantly and requires zero setup or account registration.
Privacy First: 100% Local Storage
We believe your notes belong to you. Unlike many other cloud-based note apps that sync your data to remote servers (which can pose a privacy risk), the Zen Notepad saves all your text locally using your browser's localStorage API. Your notes never leave your device. They are waiting for you exactly as you left them the next time you open the page on the same browser.
Features Built for Productivity

Ctrl+M(or the Zen button) to hide the navigation, menus, and status bars. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
If I close the browser, will I lose my notes?
No. Your notes are securely saved in your browser's local storage cache. Even if you accidentally close the tab or restart your entire browser, your data will still be there when you return to SlashGit. (Note: Clearing your browser's cookies and site data will delete your notes).
Can I access these notes on my phone?
Because the data is stored locally on the specific device and browser you are currently using, the notes will not automatically sync to your mobile phone or another computer. If you need to move the text, we recommend using the download button to save the .txt file or simply copying and pasting it into an email or messaging app.
Is there a limit to how much I can write?
Modern web browsers typically allocate around 5MB to 10MB of local storage per website. In terms of plain text, 5MB is roughly equivalent to a 1,000-page book! You have plenty of space for daily notes, code snippets, and to-do lists.
